To be referred on the NHS consult with your GP, and if they agree that a referral is appropriate they will arrange this via the NHS eReferral System. According to the NHS Constitution you have the right to ask for a referral to the hospital of your choice, even if you do not live in Liverpool, or Aintree is not your nearest hospital.
Contact your insurance provider and confirm that you are covered for the problem you wish to see Mr Lucky about. Once they have confirmed, they will often give you an authorisation code. You will also need a referral letter from your GP, so make an appointment to see them or send an online consultation and ask for a private referral. Contact the hospital of your choice (The Sefton Suite or Spire Murrayfield, see the links below) and ask for an appointment with Mr Lucky, and give them the insurance company's information and authorisation. Take your GP letter with you to your appointment.
